We're not alone as mothers, so there's no need to struggle or wonder what to do. Let's learn from each other -- ask questions, offer advice, encourage one another, and laugh together! What an adventure we're on! Check out the "Who are You?" post to sign in and meet the other mothers!

Sadly, I went off to college not having the slightest idea of even how to do laundry. So when it came to managing the home, I was equally as unprepared.
Some tricks of the trade, I've managed to learn over time just from having to do them. Cooking, for example, I've only recently felt confident about. Luckily, my husband is always eager to try whatever I'm making, so he's been my biggest confidence booster.
I've read some blogs out there about how other mothers manage their marriage, homes, and families, and I've tried to take what they do and apply it to us. That's seemed to help.
As for teaching my daughters, I'm afraid they're going to learn from my example, and that's enough to give me a bit of a kick in the backside to get it right. Also, I'm hoping to teach them responsibility through chores and also having them by my side as my helpers.
What are your ideas/suggestions?
My parents never really expected much from me as far as helping with chores or helping around the house so I've had to learn what I can by observing, reading and trial and error. I hope to teach the kids early on that their contribution is important in the home and get them doing things around the house independently so they will have a greater advantage than I did coming into marriage and motherhood!
When they are older I would like to find someone more mature than I (like Titus 2 suggests) to come along side my girls and show them some important skills around the house and it will encourage them to learn to care for their home and families the way God designed- and not just because I say they have to do it!
