Home Management strengths/weaknesses

What is a strong point for you with managing your home? a weak point?

I don't know that I have a strength with home management -- I feel like I do a pretty lousy job when it comes to cleaning and decorating and cooking and all that. I love time with the kids; does that count?

My weakness is cleaning the house. It comes natural to me to have things clean and orderly, believe it or not. However, I tend to throw in the towel with cleaning when I know the house is just going to be destroyed the second the kids wake up. I'm working on keeping to my schedule, though, and I'm doing okay. Hold me accountable to this -- threaten to just drop by sometime without calling ahead! :)

I guess my strength would be cooking/meal planning. This is easy for me because I enjoy it. Of course, I make my share of lousy meals, but at least I have fun in the process and know a week in advance that we'll be eating it!

My weakness would definately be cleaning. If you come to my house you will find dust, dog hair in the corners and crumbs on the carpet. I am trying to be more committed to keeping my house in order- so this is getting better everyday- and thanks to this blog for giving me ideas to get my butt in gear! :)

Oh my.....strengths...hmmmmm lets see...it's definitely not cleaning! I'd say my strength, singular not plural, is cooking. I'm not a gourmet chef by any stretch of the imagination, but I hold my own! haha I like to cook for my family and don't generally consider it a chore. I'm not great at meal planning but I try to do it as often as possible as it makes the dreaded trips to the grocery shop a little less painful. My weakness is without a doubt, handsdown, cleaning/organizing! I don't like doing it, I'm not good at it and like Karen said it's so...well its so annoying to know it won't matter the second the kids walk through... In their defense however, I was awful at it before they came along! I don't know how much better I'm getting but I am trying to do better. Not much of an excuse when I'm home all morning long on my own several times a week while the kids are in school....speaking of I need to get up from the pc and get busy! ;o)

I would say my strength is managing the finances. I don't always like what I see but I can't stand it if my checkbook is not balanced to the penny(think that comes from being a banker?). It's weird b/c I have always had to work hard at numbers to understand them but maybe that makes me better at it?

Weak point...does that translate into things I don't really like doing? I really don't like to clean and b/c of that I put it off and things easily spiral out of control. Namely, washing/vacumming floor. I keep up with the bathroom, kitchen, laundry b/c those are highly visible things that I can't handle seeing messy. The floor...not so much!
